For 2010 you can expect to see the following at Bearded Theory:

Wooden graffiti wall – A large wooden wall erected so the skills can be displayed to the public attending the festival. A large scale graffiti session with members of the public and professional artists.

Face painting – Using a quality face painting instructor we taught children how to face paint and also give free face painting.

Talent shows – Using the brilliant “Safe Collective organisation” we let children come up with their performance for 10 minutes on the talent stage. This could be singing, dancing, acrobatics or even balancing a pea on their forehead!!

Child led Orchestra – We use the famous “Agro Orchestra” to teach children to use a vary of instruments to create a full orchestra, who will then have a parade around the festival site.

Cooperative Games – Using the brilliant Angel Gardens Art team children create a sculpture in the woodland area of the festival site, using whatever objects you can lay your hands on. 

Towers of Tubes - Children are split up into teams and encouraged to construct skyscrapers using foam tubes and other materials.

Bottle Rockets - Children are split up into teams and encouraged to construct rockets using pop bottles.

Africa For Kids - Make an African mask, read a Swahili folktale and see photos from African schools

Origami – We have a fantastic Origami class teaching all ages this amazing art form in the Art arena. 

Acrobatics – We have an amazing Acrobat team coming to Bearded Theory in 2010.

Open Mic – We have an open mic stage where attendees can showcase their talents on a large stage. This has been an important part of the festival for the past three years and has become a much loved stage at the festival.

Collage – Using the brilliant Heage Out of School Club in Derbyshire, we will be creating a two dimensional Collage.

Painting - Again using Heage Out of School club we will have painting classes run twice a day in the Art Arena.

Story telling – We have professional story tellers coming to the festival after the great success at the 2009 festival.

Jewellery making – Heage Out of School Club will be using their fantastic experience teaching people how to make their own handmade jewelry.

Body arts - The painter will be led from the basic stages of paint application techniques through to more intricate designs, including clothing, fantasy designs and logos using a professional workshop provider.

Nature gardens – Using a professional gardener we will be teaching attendees how to create stunning gardens on a budget. This will also give insight to green issues such as sustainability and organic produce.

Dance – Attendees are encouraged to get down early and you can learn to salsa, rumba and tango like a pro. Learn to panchanga like its 1959, and then test your steps at concerts at the Barbican orotherfree dance classes taking place over the weekend!

Pottery - Pottery workshops are exciting, inspiring, great fun for anyone, whatever their age or ability - and you don't know what you can do until you try. Suitable for beginners and those who have knowledge of working with clay, as the courses will be tailored to individuals needs and advice will be available on all range of techniques. The workshop will cover the following:- Hand sculpture, Pinch pots, Coiled pots, Slab pots, Wheel work, Wheel work turning, Decoration - slips, burnishing and glazing, Firing.

Comedy – A new to the festival in 2010 will be a large comedy which will be managed by a local Derby Comedy Club. This will showcase the talents of local comedians and also offer opportunities to attendees to get on stage and showcase their comical talents. The tent will also house some seasoned professionals included nationally recognized comedians.

Sculpture – The festival will have a sculpture area, where attendees can work with recycled plastic materials, clay and wax to build unique sculptures which will be showcased in a mini gallery. 

Forest Schools – The festival will be invited Forest Schools to attend the festival in 2010.
