April News, Band Announcements, Last few tickets and other nonsense

April 8, 2014 9:27 pm

Evening campers! we are now counting down the days until we the open the gates of

Catton Hall for the first time. We have some exciting news and some
updates in this April edition.

The latest on the line up:  Reverend and the Makers’ John McClure is back at Bearded Theory

performing a REVEREND & THE MAKERS DJ SET in the woods on Saturday
night. Joining him is Mansfield’s indie stalwarts FOR THE GIRL who
come highly recommended from our main booker as the next big thing.
DAN DONNELLY & BEN PALEY and BAND FROM COUNTY HELL join the Sunday
woodland billing. We are delighted to have secured the FRONT DESK funk
DJs from the community and they will be playing on Friday and Saturday
evening taking us into the early hours.

SUNDAY THEME

This year’s Sunday theme is MAGIC and SPARKLES and we will have
some weird and bizarre walkabouts adopting this theme along with the
Beard world record attempt. For those of you needing some help just
sparkle up your beard and make a wizard hat with some paper.

SOMETHING ELSE TEA TENT

Madame Gail is back with the tea tent wenches for the 7th year with
another exciting line up hosted in her famous tea tent. If you like
afternoon tea with whips and corsets this is the place for you. Booked
in so far are HEADJAM, ABDOUJAPAROV, ONE EYED GOD, THE SKRAELINGS, TIM
O-T, GAZ BROOKFIELD, THE LEYLINES, SLAP YA MAMA BIG BAND, SCREAMIN
MISSJACKSON AND MUDDY SUMMERS AND THE DIRTY FIELD WHORES. We do not
take any responsibility for people who dare go in here.
————————-

RECORD ATTEMPT & COMPETITION

We have had a few issues trying to find a celebrity to host the record
attempt but no one was willing to work for the minimum wage bar a man
famous for dogging which admittedly is probably about our level in the
celebrity stakes. With that we have decided to rethink this and allow
one of our attendees the chance to do it instead. Please send us an
email as to why you think you should host the world record attempt to
info@beardedtheory.co.uk and we will announce the winner in our Easter
newsletter. Just after the record attempt will be hosting our first
paint fight in the main arena so please bring white t-shirts if you
want to take part. This is our first attempt at doing this and
probably the last.
————————-

SITE PLAN OF SORTS

We are proud to announce a very poorly scaled and inaccurate site plan
for your perusal. It doesn’t really take into account distances
between stages and campsites but this is the best we can come up with.
I bet you’re all wishing you went to a professional festival now,
unlucky!

(Click on the image below to dowdload a larger version)

The car park is further than away before but we have Festi Taxis on
hand to transport your equipment for £3 along with the trikes. In
addition to that we will have the Bearded Theory heavy transportation
and logistics vehicle providing a free luggage shuttle service taking
your camping gear into the campsite. Basically it’s a transit van
going up and down.
————————-

FOOD

We are once again showcasing some beautiful independent food
concessions that are cooking foods from around the world. Taste of
India are bringing their lovely sit down restaurant, Welsh foods
prepared by Iechyda Catering, Gandhi’s flip flop serving vegetarian
Indian dishes, Pasta la Vista serving a variety of Italian Pastas,
Mexican food and their world famous burritos by Jumping Bean,
Portuguese foods by Casa Portuguesa, a good old fashioned hog roast by
Sutton & Sons, Italian Kitchen cooking fresh stone baked Pizzas, a
lovely Chinese takeaway, BT favourites KK Catering who will be keeping
the burgers flowing, organic café serving full English breakfasts and
much more, Café Dish selling solely vegetarian and vegan foods and
finally the fantastic Toasty van serving toasties.
————————-

ALL STAR UKE JAM

The Bearded Theory legend that is Mr Keith Manuel is hosting his now
annual Uke orgy in Tornado Town. This year he is spicing it up a bit
with an all-star cast of musicians who have asked to join in. So if
you fancy a go bring your uke or anything that you can whack or your
air guitar or failing any of that just come and sing out of tune with
the rest of us. Due to the star cast members we have pushed this back
to later in the day on Sunday. Make sure you pop in! Keith will be
hosting practice sessions on Friday and Saturday early afternoon on
the woodland stage for anyone wanting to polish up their skills.

TICKETS

We are down to the last few hundred tickets and only have a handful of
campervan & caravan passes are left. They will both sell out this
month. If you have purchased tickets from the Bearded Theory online
shop or See Tickets then tickets will start to be posted out at the
end of this month. If you purchased from Ticket Sellers then tickets
will be emailed out 2 weeks prior to the festival.

Please note if you paid using the Ticket Sellers payment plan the
balances was required to be paid off by March 30th. We have extended
the repayment deadline so people don’t lose out. If you still have
your balance to pay please do it ASAP via www.theticketsellers.co.uk

Tickets are selling very well and it is looking very likely that we
will sell out with weeks to spare. Our sales are mirroring 2012 when
we sold out in April. Please do not leave it too late this year as we
don’t want you to be disappointed. We have announced our shuttle bus
timetable which is detailed further below.
