Children’s Village

February 1, 2016 8:42 pm

The Children’s Village in 2016 remains entirely free of charge to parents and children.

The area will once again be centered around a very colorful Village Green which will be opened by Mr. Motivator on Friday morning along with a children’s work out.

The area is then taken over by Bearded Theory`s Festival School providing a huge itinerary of fun educational classes meeting key stage criteria. The school features everything from; Maths (how to budget a music festival), P.E classes by Derby County FC, Sublime Science, English, History and loads more. Go to the Bearded Theory School page of the website for more details. Please make sure you enroll to the School.

The Children’s Village on Saturday bursts into life with the Village Green taking center stage; with Maypole Dancing, It’s a Knock Out, Hula Hooping, Village Stocks, evening lantern parade and a beautiful evening camp fire. The area also hosts a Village Hall tent which will showcase puppet shows, sing-a-longs, family yoga, Child Uke Jam, Party games and Kids Disco.

We have a huge teen area – the Rogues Hideout which will do all sorts including; DJ workshops, build a band workshop, art workshop, graffiti and a teen chill space.  All the Node team are DBS checked and pretty sound as well. To see what else they have on offer go to this page.

We also have a Bearded Kids tent. This offers a large craft area with paint, glitter and craft sessions.  The Baby Boo baby care tent will have an area for babies to come and play and you can stock up on baby essentials should you forget anything. The tent also includes a microwave for feeding the little ones and there is also a chance to knit and natter in this area.  We have a pamper salon doing face paints, hair braiding, fake tattoos and all this will be free.

New for 2016 is a pop up Library in our story and poetry tent. In addition, we welcome back Creative Intentions Café. Which offers both vegetarian/vegan food at child friendly prices/portions and a chill out area with games and a small acoustic stage that opens after 6pm.

The Children’s Village will be a non-smoking area and supervised by qualified DBS checked play workers.
