Food & Drink You can bring your own alcohol to the festival in moderation but please be aware that anyone who appears to be under the age of 25 will be asked for valid ID if seen consuming alcohol or bringing alcohol into the festival. Unlike many festivals you can consume your own alcohol in the arena. Bearded Theory boasts a fantastic bar which offers a great choice of real ales, ciders, spirits, lagers, wines and soft drinks. Please view our bar tariff under the information page for the full price list. We have a great range of food outlets at the festival catering for all food tastes. All our food vendors have been picked to provide good quality organic foods at sensible prices. Money Bearded Theory does have ATM Machines located near the main bar however we do accept all major credit and debit cards in the merchandise stall. Where is Bearded Theory? Bearded Theory is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District between Derby and Ashbourne. The festival is hosted at Kedleston Hall a stately home ran by the National Trust. Day Visitors & Accommodation If you have bought a weekend ticket but want to stay in bricks and mortar, the surrounding villages of Kedleston offer some brilliant bed and breakfast accommodation. However it is recommended you book in advance as most hotels within a 5 mile radius get booked up very early. Babies Everyone attending Bearded Theory needs a ticket to be allowed entry. Under 5`s tickets are free and available on the ticket page on this website. Camping You can camp at Bearded Theory at no extra cost for the dates of the festival. The campsite opens at 9am Friday 18th May 2011. Children We have a great Children Village run by the brilliant Angel Gardens and Heage Out of School Club. Please visit the Children area of this website for further details. The festival caters for children as much as it does for adults. We have a quiet area for families to camp which will be clearly signposted upon entry to the campsite. ALL child ticket holders must be accompanied by a ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 25. Child Weekend Tickets are for anyone within the specified age range on 18/05/2012. Showers We will have various shower blocks located in the Campsite and Live in Vehicle field which will charge a nominal fee for usage. Toilets We receive massive amounts of praise for our toilets every year but we will continue to make these facilities better. We expect all our toilets to be clean and tidy at all hours of the day and we have a team working 24/7 to ensure these standards are met. Animals We regrettably are not allowed any animals to be onsite at the festival this year. A nice kennel is only a couple of miles away in Ashbourne. Please contact Mansell Meadow Boarding Kennels on 01335 360817. What time is music on to? Music starts around midday each day of the festival. Friday the festival music stops at 2am. Corner Shop Bearded Theory has a corner shop that sells cigarettes, food, newspapers, fruit, crisps, soft drinks and plenty more bits and bobs. Local Shops The festival has set out to cater for all your requirements however we do recommend coming prepared. Traffic movement at the festival is restricted so please buy all your food and beverages prior to the festival taking place. Opening and Closing Times The festival opens its gates at 9am Friday 18th May 2012 and you are expected “Get off my land” by 1pm on Monday. The gates will shut for entry and re-entry at 10pm Friday/Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. Please be aware of your alcohol levels before leaving the festival site and we suggest you to limit drinking on Sunday evening should you be driving home on the Monday morning. No open fires are allowed at Bearded Theory and we have an optional cooking area for people who would like to use gas stoves. Off the ground BBQs are allowed however they will be monitored by fire stewards. Proof of Age The festival will operate a challenge 25 scheme to stop underage drinking at the festival. The festival will accept three forms of identification with regards to identifying an attendees age. This will be a valid UK Passport, Driving Licence or a PASS Identification Card. Crime Tent theft is becoming common at festivals and we advise you to visit the Crimestoppers website prior to attending the festival raise your awareness of crime and help you to minimise risk to yourself. All security personnel have UV marker pens where you can write your name and address on your belongings. All stewards and security will have photo ID to ensure you know who you are dealing with. We have text service where you can report any anti social behaviour; this will deploy site security to the area within minutes. Parking Please purchase a car parking pass prior to attending the festival. Any naughty vehicles parked on the road surrounding the festival site will be towed away. Vehicle movement might be restricted depending on the weather. Campervans We have an area for live in vehicles however you will need to buy a campervan ticket in advance. Please be aware campervan tickets have sold out in a couple of months at the previous two festivals.
