Bearded Theory Festival will be celebrating its fifth successful year in 2012 and hopefully our fifth successive sell out too.

Bearded Theory a record breaking party with Beards, Bands, Arts, Crafts, Weddings, DJs and general daftness, is a three day music festival that has now firmly entrenched itself as being the first "proper" festival of the season.

Our aim is pretty simple and that is to provide the best non corporate family festival experience in our prize range and in safe surroundings.

Founded in 2007 we were runner up in the Best New Festival Award in 2008 and in 2009 runner up again for Promoter of the Year at the UK Festival Awards. We have also been shortlisted for the Best Family Festival Award on no fewer than 3 occasions. In 2011 we won the UKs Best Independent Festival Award at the prestigious AIM Music Awards in London.

Every year Bearded Theory attempts to break the world record for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beards in one place and at one time. You are all invited to take part BUT it’s not compulsory and there is plenty of other things to do.

Bearded Theory has seen over 400 diverse artists perform over 5 stages and past acts include the Waterboys, Athlete, Dub Pistols, Alabama 3, Hawkwind, The Whip, King Blues, Eat Static, The Wonder Stuff , The Orb, Ade Edmondson, Dreadzone, Saw Doctors, the Undertones, Neville Staple, Banco De Gaia, New Model Army, Transglobal Underground, Union Jack, 3 Daft Monkeys, Dodgy, Pama International, Zion Train, Dr & The Medics, The Beat, Subgiant, Wagner and even the Cheeky Girls!

The festival continues to offer a variety of entertainment away from the music to ensure everyone's creativity is catered for and over the past few yeas we have seen a vast array of workshops, circus acts, site art, solar cinema, fire trees, medieval living camp, market Village, chill out tents, cabaret, comedy, graffiti, arts & crafts, busk stops and much more.

The children's area was recently expanded into a one and a half acre space and this area in the past has offered everything from a children's open mic stage, its a knock out, climbing wall, zip lines, play ground, toddler area, breast feeding facilities, tree houses, circus skills, arts and crafts, story tellers, children's carnival, disco tent and loads more. We stage around 50 workshops every year and the majority of activities are predominately free.

Bearded Theory invites only the best food vendors to the festival, ensuring all our attendees are served good quality organic foods at sensible prices.

The festivals 3 on site bars are now operated by local award winning brewery Thornbridge and they will prove legendary with their good quality ale/ciders sold at pub prices and in some cases below pub prices!

We remain as one of the best value events in the UK and regularly advertised of the best event of our kind. Do not take our word for it just read the hundreds of reviews listed online!

Bearded Theory is a family event and we provide good facilities such as hot showers, communal cooking areas, picnic areas and over allocate space so our attendees are not squashed together.
