Proof of Age
The festival will operate a challenge 21 scheme to stop underage drinking at the festival.
The festival will accept three forms of identification with regards to identifying an attendee’s age. This will be a valid UK Passport, Driving Licence or a PASS Identification Card.
Animals
We regrettably are not allowed any animals to be onsite at the festival this year. However a nice kennel is only a couple of miles away in Ashbourne. Please contact Mansell Meadow Boarding Kennels on 01335 360817.
Campervans
We have an area for live in vehicles, however you will need to buy a campervan ticket in advance.
Please be aware campervan tickets have sold out in a couple of months at the previous two festivals.
What time is music on to
Music starts around midday each day of the festival.
Friday the festival music stops at 12midnight Saturday the festival music stops at 2am Sunday the festival music stops at 12midnight.
Fireworks
Fireworks are strictly forbidden and will be confiscated.
Crime
Tent theft is becoming common at festivals and we advise you to visit the Crimestoppers website prior to attending the festival raise your awareness of crime and help you to minimise risk to yourself. Bearded Theory has been fortunate to have had no crime reported in 2009, but the festival will remain vigilant.
All security personnel have UV marker pens where you can write your name and address on your belongings. All stewards and security will have photo ID to ensure you know who you’re dealing with. We have text service where you can report any anti social behaviour; this will deploy site security to the area within minutes.
Sound Systems
No unauthorised sounds systems are allowed onsite and will be confiscated.
Parking
Please purchase a car parking pass prior to attending the festival. Any vehicles parked on the road surrounding the festival site will be towed away.
Vehicle movement might be restricted depending on the weather.

Local Shops
The festival has set out to cater for all your requirements however we do recommend coming prepared. Traffic movement at the festival is restricted so please buy all your food and beverages prior to the festival taking place. The CO-OP in Ashbourne is the closest supermarket and also has a cash point. (Shawcroft Centre/Dig St, Ashbourne, DE6 1RT)
Opening and Closing Times
The festival opens its gates at 9am Friday 14th May 2010 and you are expected to leave the festival site by midday Monday 17th May 2010. The gates will shut for entry and re-entry at 10pm Friday/Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. Please be aware of your alcohol levels before leaving the festival site and we suggest you to limit drinking on Sunday evening should you be driving home on the Monday morning.
Food & Drink
You can bring your own alcohol to the festival in moderation and anyone who appears to be under the age of 25 will be asked for valid ID if seen consuming alcohol or bringing alcohol into the festival. You can consume your own alcohol in the arena.
Please be aware we have a strict no glass policy at Bearded Theory and any glass will be confiscated.
Bearded Theory boasts a fantastic bar which offers a great choice of real ales, ciders, spirits, lagers, wines and soft drinks.
We have a great range of food outlets at the festival catering for all food tastes.
Illegal Substances
We are a family friendly festival and have a strict policy on dealing with drug abuse. Anyone caught in possession of an illegal substance will have the substance confiscated and the Police will be called.
Fires/BBQs/Gas Stoves
No open fires are allowed at Bearded Theory and we have a cooking area for people to use gas stoves.
Off ground BBQs are allowed, these will be monitored by fire stewards.
Where is Bearded Theory?
Bearded Theory is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District with stunning views over the rolling hills. The festival is situated between Ashbourne and Belper.
Day Visitors & Accommodation
If you have bought a weekend ticket but want to stay in bricks and mortar, the surrounding villages of Hulland Ward and Bradley offer some brilliant bed and breakfast accommodation. However it is recommended you book in advance as these were booked up very quickly in 2009.
Please use a taxi to get to the site and head to the drop off point.

Babies
Everyone attending Bearded Theory needs a ticket to be allowed entry. Under 5`s tickets are free and available on the ticket page on this website.
Tickets
Tickets go on sale from September 1st for more details visit the ticket page on the website. No day tickets will be on sale for Bearded Theory 2010.
Tickets will be posted out 6 weeks prior to the festival however we will email you confirmation of your ticket purchase.
Corner Shop
We have a new addition to Bearded Theory 2010 being a corner shop. This will be selling cigarettes, food, newspapers, soft drinks and plenty more bits and bobs.
Camping
You can camp at Bearded Theory at no extra cost for the dates of the festival. The campsite opens at 9am Friday 14th May 2010. You cannot camp by your car due to Health and Safety reasons and you are expected to adhere to the terms and conditions of your ticket. “Get off my land” by 1pm on Monday!!!
Children
We have a great children’s area run by the brilliant Angel Gardens and Heage Out of School club.
Please visit the Little Ones area of this website. The festival caters for children as much as it does for adults. We have a quiet area for families to camp which will be clearly signposted.

Traders
We are accepting trader applications until February 1st and will then write to inform you if you have been successful 14 days following closing date.
Stewards
We are accepting stewarding applications now. If you are accepted you are expected to pay an £80 bond, which will be returned back to you at the end of your last shift.
Showers
Another new addition to Bearded Theory 2010 will be a couple of shower blocks, which will charge a nominal fee for usage. So you can feel all clean and posh!!
Toilets
We received huge praise for our toilets in 2009 and we will continue to make these facilities better in 2010!
