Magical Sounds Dance Tent The Magical Sounds Dance Tent was born out of the very first Bearded Theory festival where artists including Ed Tangent and Dreadzone Soundsystem played what was a pallet-built stage, under a gazebo on the pubs patio. From these humble beginnings, Magical Sounds has progressed into a solid crew delivering cutting edge dance music and a visual treat to those who come to dance.. The crew consists of a solid core of professionals who deliver the best Opus rig in the country, amazing decor, lights, lasers, dancers and other aural and visual stimuli that are yet to be revealed. 2008 was therefore the first Magical Sounds outdoor venture and Ed Tangent warmed the crowd up for a triumphant inaugural Dreadzone Soundsystem performance.. 2009 saw the dance tent take an unexpected primary role when Mother Nature threw her windy curve-ball at us and we continued throughout providing entertainment to those hardy souls that stayed and partied through till Sunday night.. 2010 saw us up the tempo and invite dance music legends such as Banco De Gaia to play. Special mention can be made to Toby Marks (aka Banco De Gaia) as after the Tornado, Toby called into Hebden Bridge Trades Club and did a benefit gig to help us out, we are always thankful for this and will see him play Bearded Theory again someday!! 2011 will see the expansion of the "Dance area" with the addition of a Chill tent, this will consist of nice comfy area to chill, have a well-earned drink and rest those dancing feet! It will also see programmed chilled ambient music continue throughout the night providing an intimate comfy corner for the night-owls to enjoy. Musically, we will continue to invite the myriad of underground dance music tribes that continue to keep the vibe alive each month with well organised, kicking parties in every major town and city in the country. These collectives are run and frequented by lovely focussed and talented people, a perfect demographic for a dance tent!! As with all areas of Bearded Theory, we also rely and encourage our patrons to tell us what they want; therefore if you have a suggestion about the Magical Sounds Dance Area or a request for an artist, we would love to hear from you! |
