Getting to Bearded Theory 2010
Bearded Theory Festival is hosted at Bradley Nook Farm Estate, Bradley, Hulland Ward, Derbyshire, which is situated between Ashbourne and Belper.
Directions
By Road
The post code for your SatNav is DE6 3EL and when you are within 1 mile of the festival site please follow the festival signs not your SatNav.
Please drive slowly when leaving the A517 and ensure your speed does not exceed 30MPH and be cautious of Pedestrians and Horse Riders.
FROM ASHBOURNE. If you are driving from Ashbourne follow the signs for the Belper Road A517, follow the Belper Road until it becomes the A517, carry on down the A517 for just under 4 miles and turn left onto Gorse Lane ( signposted for the festival) and the festival is on the right hand side around 200 yards up Gorse Lane.
FROM BELPER. If you are driving from Belper follow the signs for the Matlock A6 , follow the A6 until you arrive at the first set of traffic lights, turn left onto the A517 signposted Ashbourne, follow the A517 for 7 miles until you pass through Hulland Ward village, turn right onto Dog Lane (this will be signposted for the festival), continue to drive down Dog Lane and take your second left hand turn, drive to the end of the road, go straight on at the cross roads which leads onto Gorse Lane, go down Gorse Lane for quarter of a mile and the festival will be on your left.
DROP OFF POINT
Please follow the directions as stated above until you have arrived on Gorse Lane.
FROM ASHBOURNE. Once you have turned onto Gorse Lane, turn immediately left into the lay-by, by the post box/public telephone and disembark here.
FROM BELPER. Once you have turned onto Gorse Lane please follow the road, past the festival site and turn right into the lay-by by the post box/public telephone and disembark here.
PUBLIC BUS
Hulland ward is served by a limited service. You should disembark the bus at goose lane, to the west of Hulland wood. We’ll put a Bearded Theory sign at this stop.

Please be careful when walking from the bus stop to the festival site. We advise against using the public bus service and it is better for you to use the festival bus service stated below.
BY FOOT
We advise against walking to the site due to the rural location, there are no pavements, and the festival will attract extra traffic on small country roads. Please use the shuttle bus from Belper Train Station instead. |
